Role synopsis The Process Engineer is responsible for providing Process Engineering expertise to the delivery of Lignocellulosic technology designs. This involves basic design of the LC conversion process for the development of the Process Design Manual. The incumbent will need to interface with the Technology group, Process Modelers, discipline engineers, Project Manager, Business Development Manager, and the project team during the delivery of the process design manual and throughout the implementation period.

The position reports to the Process Engineering Team Leader.
Key accountabilities Provide HSSE leadership in all activities.

Provide engineering expertise to the Engineering Manager, the Business Development Manager, and other management team members as necessary.

Primary area of responsibility is the development and maintenance of the Process Design Manual (PDM). Provide input during the development and maintenance of the Engineering Manual (EM), the Instrumentation, Controls, Electrical and DCS Manual (ICEM) and the Operations Manual (OM). These documents collectively form the Technology Design Package (TDP), the main technical deliverable. Interface with the Technology team during the entire aforementioned process in order to promote unilateral acceptance of the final TDP.

Provide support during FEED and DED. This support will take the form of:
Answering engineering design questions.
Assurance that the Front End Engineering Design and Detailed Engineering Design is being done in accordance with the TDP.
Participation in Process Safety Reviews including HAZOP, PHA, and LOPA.
On-site assistance during construction and start-up.

Protect BP Intellectual Property at the highest level.
Essential Education BS in Chemical Engineering or related field.
Essential experience and job requirements 5 years’ experience in process engineering/development in the Renewable Fuels or equivalent sector.

Proven ability to review and/or manipulate Process Flow diagrams, P&IDs, and Mass and Energy balances. Experience with creating Process Design and Control Narratives.

Track record of technical excellence and delivery in technology and manufacturing environments. Viewed as a technical leader and an expert in the field.
