Position Accountabilities
* Assures the development and execution of a merchandise strategy that facilitates our consumers’ preferred purchasing behaviors as measured by achievement of financial objectives (Sales, Margins, and Inventory turn)
* Assures the development and execution of merchandise strategies that build the equity of the Famous Footwear brand as measured by sales growth, consumer perception, and vendor partnerships
* Assures participation and partnership in the development of corporate strategies to achieve the company’s mission
* Assures the maintenance of a strong, collaborative culture that places a premium on continuous development of talent at all levels of the buying organizationProfile Accountabilities

* Collaborates with President and Senior Team in building strategy, monitoring execution and adjusting plans as necessary.
* Provides leadership and clarity to the DMMs and Buying team to assure alignment of priorities and direction
* Maintains a long-term perspective while developing and executing strategies for product, merchandising and inventory management that deliver near term financial plans.
* Develops and maintains strong partnerships with senior level vendor partners, both internally and externally
* Establishes corporate cross-functional partnerships to communicate and facilitate the execution of merchant’s vision.
* Leads co-op collection efforts for Marketing
* Travels markets to understand merchandise trends, translated to the Famous Footwear customer and uses the information to develop strategic plans and vision.
* Participates in industry trade shows such as FFANY and Magic
* Performs regular analysis to monitor progress and identify future growth opportunities.
* Leads verticalization opportunities that are appropriate for the Famous Footwear Customer
* Leads seasonal Go To Market meetingsPosition Specifications

Educational Preference:
* College DegreeJob Experience:
* Operational experience in footwear, branded business or specialty apparel business.
* Success growing a business in either a GMM or DMM role.Computer Experience:
* Microsoft Office, merchandising applications (JDA/Arthur or equivalent), reporting systems
