Burns & McDonnell is looking for the unique Commissioning Specialist that has a desire to apply their technical experience, while actively engaging their entrepreneurial spirit. Our Kansas City office has a position available for a lead Commissioning Specialist with 10 to 15 years of experience in a variety of facility systems and subsystems. This leadership position will be plugged into the 3,000 strong staff of resources from our headquarters in Kansas City and regional offices. The successful candidate will execute complex commissioning assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods. Involves a variety of unique construction projects. May develop and evaluate plans for major projects. May assess feasibility or soundness of proposed commissioning services or technical applications when data is insufficient or testing is advisable.Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and a good knowledge of principles and practices of related specialties. Performs design reviews, reviews plans and contract documents for accuracy. Verifies that all systems installed and operate according to the original design intent. Performs quality reviews. Responsible for mentoring and training other staff members. Progressive project management responsibilities. Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members. Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel. Some marketing responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
