Burns & McDonnell, Inc. is expanding its Environmental Practice in the Chicago land area and is searching for a Senior Project Manager to join our growing and successful operation in Chicago. We are building on an existing staff of more than 50 environmental professionals in our Chicago region, including civil ,environmental and chemical engineers, geologists, hydrogeologist, biologist, scientist, air quality professionals, etc.. We are in need of a senior level geologist/hydrogeologist to perform groundwater and other environmental remediation projects, mentor and supervise junior staff, manage large remediation projects, perform doer/seller functions, etc.

We would prefer fifteen or more years of experience managing a wide variety of environmental and hydro projects. Other requirements include:

Registered Geologist/Hydrogeologist with a Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) from an ABET accredited program.

  • An established network of contacts in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana and demonstrated business development and project pursuit capabilities.

  • Demonstrated supervision skills and personnel management skills to review work assignments and performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.

  • Ability to assist with recruitment, development and retention of staff.

  • Serves as the technical advisor providing senior-level input and evaluation on projects in the region.

  • Determines program objectives and requirements, organizes projects and develops standards and guidelines.

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Experience with construction management and alternate delivery methods, including design-build procurement, is considered a plus.
