Staff Electrical Engineer-Network Job Listing at Burns & McDonnell in New Gloucester, ME

The position involves network architecture, engineering, and administration. The position includes travel and client interaction. Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills. CCNP-level of knowledge of IP networks, but the actual certification is not mandatory. Knowledge of BGP routing design and implementation. Knowledge of Ethernet including Spanning Tree or other loop-blocking protocols, VLAN trunking, and topology design. Experience with the design and provisioning of MPLS networks preferred, including the following protocols: OSPF, IS-IS, RSVP-TE, LDP, BGP. An understanding of TDM-based transport (SONET, DS3, T1) preferred. An understanding of transport methods including wireless, microwave, and fiber optics preferred. Application of networking and IT in electric utility applications is a plus.
