Description
The T&D Drafter/Designer is a position reporting to the Substation Department Manager. This position will be required to provide technical drafting and design support for assigned projects, and requires the ability to handle multiple projects and to prioritize work. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs drafting assignments by applying standardized drawing techniques from sketches, verbal instructions and notes under the direction of an engineer.
  • Creates sketches, layouts, plans and drawings for substation physical apparatus.
  • Develops, modifies control schematics, wiring diagrams and equipment connection diagrams.
  • Develops, modifies and reviews drawings according to client and/or company drafting standards.
  • Maintains current knowledge of design and drafting procedures.
  • Reviews all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting for engineering review.
  • Provides an accurate accounting of time spent on projects.
  • Performs design assignments by applying learned industry standard design techniques in the creation of electrical and structural drawings.
