Description -Recruit, train, manage, and coach a sales team that will consistently meet or exceed assigned quota by following established methodologies to sell products and services to new and existing customers
-Working with Corporate Staffing, and Employee Relations, consistently apply approved best practices to identify, recruit, and hire individuals with the appropriate set of skills, personality traits, competencies, and capabilities needed to become a successful Account Executive (AE)
-Working with the Director of Sales Training, ensure that each new hire AE, completes all required training and orientation programs as established by the company within the specified time. Additionally, provide each AE with individual coaching, mentoring, and support to ensure success as a full time member of the team.
-Working with each AE, develop an individual sales plan that outlines weekly activity objectives and a personal development plan with objectives. Individual plans should correspond appropriately to the level of AE.
-Ensure that all AEs are compliant with all company policies, processes, and best practice, such that their work results in clear measurement of their performance. Review the performance measures of each and every AE on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, and provide immediate feedback to the AE to ensure that their performance is within established norms for the position. Assist them with any necessary remediation to bring their performance back to compliance.
-Engage with sales Training, Employee relations and the RVP, if necessary, to develop any performance improvement plans, or other actions necessary to bring the AE back to compliance or to reassign or separate the employee consistent with all company policies.
-Working with the RVP, work to develop a team sales plan that will result in increased yield of market share of your assigned territory, buildings, and accounts. ensuring that the Sales team is appropriately focused on meeting their annual, monthly and weekly sales quota as defined by Sales management.
-Ensure strict compliance in the use of all company systems (eg.SalesForce.com, E-Time, Etc.) for both the Director and AE’s and that information about all activities, opportunities, and forecasts is accurate, timely, and achievable.
-Gather and provide to Product Management and/or Marketing, any competitive information needed to refine existing products or develop new products based on market and specific customer needs.
-Manage the assigned sales function through the use of factual operational, market, and performance data, minimizing use of anecdotal information, opinions, innuendo, or rumors.
-Ensure that AE’s are working to add new accounts, and to further penetrate existing accounts with value added products and services.
-Consistently maintain a positive attitude contributing to an overall positive atmosphere at Optimum Lightpath.
-Work in and contribute to an atmosphere of trust and integrity with fellow employees in order to ensure Optimum Lightpath’s overall success.
-Attend and successfully complete all required sales, product and process training sessions, and take personal responsibility for professional development in order to increase your skills as a Sales Director.
-Be pro-active and keep up with our ever changing industry with regards to new product offerings, industry changes, and competitor actions.
-Attend all meetings as directed by your supervisor and management.
Qualifications -Minimum of five years experience building and managing successful sales organizations
-Minimum 5 years experience selling directly to businesses a moderately complex telecommunication or technology product or service.
-Demonstrated leadership, motivational, coaching and general interpersonal skills.
-A demonstrated ability to effectively recruit candidates with the appropriate skills needed to fill all open positions.
-Ability to effectively plan, delegate, and manage activities, projects, and personnel.
-Highly organized with a demonstrated ability to manage with facts collected from appropriate and approved data sources.
-Ability to develop and implement strategic sales plans, analyze results and develop improvement plans.
-Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
-The ability to effectively develop and deliver a customer focused presentation designed to articulate products and services and how they will be delivered and maintained.
-The ability to write internal executive level reports and presentations, and deliver them to senior management.
-The ability to coach and mentor AE’s in developing their communication skills.
-Public speaking experience a plus
-Proficient in PC Skills - Especially MS WORD, EXCEL, Powerpoint, SalesForce.com, Visio
-Candidates must be high energy individuals who are willing to be an integral part of a growing professional sales organization.
-Ability to work well under pressure
