Position Objective:
This individual will handle standard payroll responsibilities, including timekeeping and payroll reporting. Respond to payroll inquiries from employees, managers, and HR outsource service providers. Will ensure payroll policies and procedures are consistently applied, but willing to support a company eagerly looking into process reengineering. Ability to work in a fast paced environment which places a high value on administrative efficiency and technology.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Utilizing the Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel, manage, then import payroll information into ADP Enterprise Version 5 (EV5), supports the management of EV5 database systems, as well as reviews and creates policy and procedure documents.
* Calculate sales commissions, send for review and approval, and enter for payment
* Review, edit and approve time each pay period for payroll submission
* Reconciles all payroll deductions each pay period
* Completes entry of employee data changes
* Ensures all changes to payroll are processed correctly
* Keep track and respond to requests on paid time off accruals for employees
* Interacts with payroll tax service on payroll tax related matters
* Interacts with unemployment vendor and state agencies to provide information
* Process manual checks as requested and approved
* Data entry and review of garnishments, tax levies and any other wage attachment information sent to 3rd party payroll vendors for accuracy prior to submission and after processing
Qualifications
* Must possess strong PC experience in (Outlook, Word & Excel)
* High School Diploma or equivalent required; FPC or CPP preferred
* Previous payroll experience including multi-state preferred
* Experience with 3rd party vendors, in particular ADP EV5 (preferred but not required)
* Must have the ability to act in a professional manner and maintain confidentiality
* Must be well organized, analytical, mathematical, and capable of analyzing data
* Must have strong customer service and communication skills including written and verbal communications skills, as well as effective listening skills
* Knowledgeable of payroll, payroll tax and human resource procedures and laws preferred
