Position Description
The award-winning Country Inn & Suites-Mall of America is looking for a PT Laundry Attendant to join their Housekeeping team. The PT Laundry Attendant will be responsible for the following:
1. Maintains the cleanliness of the hotel’s linen supply
• Sorts laundry prior to washing
• Pulls damaged and/or stained linen prior to loading the washers
• Loads washers and dryers to recommended weights
• Cleans and organizes linens
• Monitors usage of water to maximize consumption
• Informs supervisor of any equipment failures or supply shortage
• Folds linens and towels properly according to standard
• Restock closets and storage areas
• Completes inventory of stock as requested
2. Adheres to hotel policies and procedures
• Maintains knowledge of and complies with all department policies
• Maintains cleanliness of laundry room
• Attends work on time as scheduled
• Uses equipment and chemicals in accordance with hotel’s safety procedures
• Adheres to all health, sanitation and safety rules and procedures
3. Aligns with the “Be Our Guest” service standards to build and reinforce skills that create a lasting service culture that provides caring, comfortable and consistent experiences.
• Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service
• Provides genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis
• Performs other duties required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality
Position Requirements
• GED or high school diploma preferred
• Previous laundry and/or dry cleaning experience preferred
• Must be able to accurately follow verbal and written instructions
• Works well in a team environment
• Basic math skills, such as addition and subtraction
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions thoroughly
• Flexible schedule, ability to work shifts during the week and on the weekend

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Proper lifting techniques required
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, pushing or pulling objects up to 100 pounds
• Ability to work under variable temperature conditions
