DescriptionThe Business Development Officer (BDO) position will be responsible for building long term and profitable relationships in support of the Mortgage Banking business line. The BDO will identify and engage with a variety of sourcing entities spanning both the public and private sector and include for profit and non-profit organizations. Utilizing contractual arrangements when possible or through the establishment of deep and broad relationships with critical influencers within these organizations, the BDO will increase Chase's residential lending share in key market segments including Multi-cultural and Affordable, Military/Veteran, and Union. Additionally the BDO will drive incremental revenue generating home ownership opportunities through the facilitation of educational seminars, and by establishing relationships with real estate firms and builder firms. In doing so, the BDO will have a direct impact on enhancing the Chase brand and image by driving the activities to fulfill our corporate responsibility in communities we serve. The BDO will reside within each Mortgage Banking Retail Region and report to the Regional Business Development Manager. Proven ability to rapidly master new information will be required to ensure a steep learning curve around developing originations plans designed to serve various target segments (i.e., Multi-Cultural Affordable) andStrong understanding of the Mortgage Banking industry Proven ability to develop and execute a plan for researching, identifying, and maximizing opportunities in a business to business (or organization to organization) environment Up to date knowledge of the economic and market environment. Working knowledge of critical factors affecting the financial industry Familiarity with business drivers and factors influencing profitability, quality, and compliance with laws and regulations Strong communication, presentation, and relationship building skills Demonstrated institutional business development success Strong organizational and prioritization skills Demonstrated ability to deliver financial results Strategic broad thinking with keen ability to solve complex problems Demonstrated ability to deliver a great customer experience A team player who has a demonstrated capability of developing strong peer relationships
