Overview Chevron currently has an opportunity for an Employment & Expatriate Tax Analyst based in London. The Employment & Expatriate Tax Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting employee deployment operations and necessary taxation factors and influences for employees operating in a global environment. The position will be working in a close team with operational connections to a range of specialist teams, national and international on a daily basis. Position Details: Key Job Responsibilities for these positions: • Work with outsourced payroll provider to ensure that statutory and corporate compliance is being adhered to correctly via the UK payroll, including monthly payroll analysis and year-end filings • Project participation on specific projects including RFP’s for tax providers, RTI implementation and process review • Acting as a subject matter expert on other projects as and when required • Work with outsourced payroll and tax providers to track and monitor payroll for correct application of PAYE for outbound expatriates on the UK payroll (including ensuring Certificates of Coverage are monitored) • Review and monitor PAYE for inbound expatriates on the modified payroll • Preparation of Appendix 7B NI return and liaising with tax providers regarding Appendix 7A requirements • Liaising with tax providers regarding UK and International tax return seasons, NIC positions and employee queries • Application of A1’s/COC’s for UK outbound expatriate • Ensuring compliance with general tax instructions, new legislation, and interpretation of policy from a tax perspective • Handle general tax queries relating to prior years and assist with any Section 9A queries from Tax Advisers • Working with budget holders to explain expatriate tax charges • Facilitate and co-ordinate general tax advice requested internally and regular liaisons with internal teams such as payroll, total remuneration, executive compensation and global mobility. • Work with Corporate Tax to provide advice on the tax implications of any corporate changes • Implements process improvements with outsourced service providers, including payroll and tax and measure their performance • Responsible for analysis and completion of Form 42 as well as reporting of cross-border equity based compensation. • Assisting in managing all employment tax related risks including PAYE audits, SAO • Collecting data for use in various annual computations including PSA, P11Ds, year-end filings and tax return seasons. • Handle employee and business queries relating to the interpretation of tax equalization policy and its application from a practical point of view Required (Basic) Qualifications: • Degree (or equivalent) in a financial related discipline is strong preferable. • ATT/CTA tax qualification is desired • Specific UK tax and payroll technical knowledge is essential. • In-depth understanding of employment tax statutory filing obligations and prior experience in the preparation of the PSA • Experience of expatriate tax work would ensure a good insight into understanding the work. • General understanding of other country requirements, tax treaties etc that have an impact to tax or payroll situations • SAP payroll and HR knowledge would be advantageous • Strong Excel skills (Pivot table skill-level) • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills • Ideally a background working in team environment and independently as required.
