BACKGROUND:
Childrens Home Society of Washington is the states oldest statewide, private, not-for-profit organization serving children and families. Our mission is to develop healthy children, create strong families, build engaged communities, and to speak and advocate for children. Each year, the Society serves thousands of children and parents across Washington through a variety of programs.

We are seeking an individual to join CHSW who believes in its mission and is passionate about the services we provide to our consumers. The person must be eager to call into play his/her skills to make a difference in the lives of children and families.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marketing Communications Department is seeking an intern for Summer 2011. This unpaid, 10-week internship offers a unique opportunity for an individual with an interest in social media, marketing, and communications in a non-profit setting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
schedule and post content to CHSW social media sites
respond appropriately to fan questions/comments as needed
monitor social media activities using reporting and monitoring tools
create weekly reports measuring "followership" - Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube - how many followers, views, members, and fans
follow and list appropriate people and organizations on Twitter
assist with multimedia production, including video tapings and photo shoots
stay up to date with social media developments
general marketing and communications duties as assigned
opportunities to participate in team marketing meetings
