DescriptionBusiness Analyst supporting Financial Accounting for both area-specific and firm-wide projects that impact FA, primarily for US Regulatory Reporting.
Develop business and functional requirements as per the defined format and obtain timely sign-off by all the respective parties. Manage and actively participate in and contribute to all phases of the project lifecycle, including business case development, cost benefit analysis, requirements gathering, test planning and execution and implementation. Work closely with the Users, line management, and IT groups throughout the various phases of the project. Prepare and maintain all project related status reports, chair project meetings, engage other departments and groups, as necessary, and manage all issues and risks through to resolution Establish strong working relationships with the Line and IT staff. Manage project lifecycle using Operational Excellence/Lean Sigma methodology (DMAIC) Defining project scope, goal statement, opportunity statement, project plan and team (Define Phase). Meet with line personnel to collect data and document current processes including business and systems flows. (Measure Phase) Review data and determine root causes (Analysis Phase) Define new processes with users. Create proposed business and systems flows and validate. (Improve Phase) Develop plan and processes to continually monitor performance (Control Phase) For Systems-related fixes, in addition to above: Develop formal business and functional requirements and obtain sign off by all interested parties Validate IT functional specifications against business and functional requirements Work with IT during their design and development. Develop test approach-define test cases, test data, expected results and perform testing itself Implement into Production Manage Day 2 enhancements Manage and prioritize Day 2 Book of Work TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST POSSESS: List qualifications, skills and certifications (bullet form recommended). College degree, majoring in Accounting or Finance. Essential 5-8 years of experience with investment banking trading products Knowledge of securities accounting and trade processing US Regulatory Reporting experience Participated on a change management or process re-engineering team Functional/business specification development General Ledger knowledge Experience with MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio and Excel Good management, planning and organizational skills Proven team player with a flexible approach Self-starter Desirable Project management Knowledge of trading business processes front to back Operational Excellence, Lean or Six Sigma training PeopleSoft General Ledger Apply on Company Website |
