Construction Administrator Job Listing at City of Columbia,SC in Columbia, SC
The purpose of this position is to monitor and inspect City construction, renovation and installation projects for compliance with plans, specifications, regulations and standards of quality and safety; and to perform related administrative and technical work as required.
Associate's degree or vocational technical degree with emphasis in construction, construction management or closely related field with ten (10) years work experience in coordinating and monitoring the work of architects, engineers and contractors to ensure all design and construction work is in accordance with plans, specifications and regulations; reviews construction plans and specifications for compliance and assists in developing requests for proposals and requests for bids; inspects construction work in progress and at completion and inspects construction materials for compliance with applicable codes and specifications. Bachelor's degree in engineering or project management preferred.
Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class "D" Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have knowledge of personal computer equipment with skill in the use of Microsoft Office preferred, utilizing Outlook, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software programs as well as data entry skills.
May be required to work additional hours as needed in order to accomplish assigned work.
