Information Technology Systems Administrator Job Listing at City of Columbia,SC in Columbia, SC
The purpose of this position is to interpret, analyze, recommend and implement management information systems; to develop and implement computer software application programs and systems for user departments; to implement and maintain network infrastructure, applications and computer systems, and to perform related professional and technical work as required.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, network engineering, or closely related field with two (2) years of progressively responsible work experience in implementing and maintaining network infrastructure, applications and computer systems; programming skills preferred; or an Associate's degree with four (4) years of relevant information technology experience. Preference may be given to applicants who have experience in the use of Microsoft SQL, City Works and/or ESRI's GIS (Geographic Information Systems) mapping software.
Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class "D" Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have knowledge of personal and peripheral equipment with skill in doing data entry and in the use of Microsoft Office 2003/2007-Windows 7 preferred, utilizing Outlook and all associated software programs, as well as OS Systems Management. Must be able to work overtime as needed in order to accomplish assigned work. Will be required to provide twenty-four (24/7) hour maintenance support on an on-call basis.
