The purpose of this position is to perform routine to complex technical land surveying work in support of City engineering projects, and to perform related work as required.
Qualifications
Graduation from high school, vocational school, or GED supplemented by one (1) year of college education in surveying, or a closely related field with two (2) years work experience in operating surveying instruments and equipment, including GPS (Global Positioning System) technology, to perform land boundary surveys, construction surveys and geodetic surveys, topographic surveys, utility as-built surveys, and all other general engineering, construction and land survey work.
Special Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class "D" Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have knowledge of personal computer equipment with skill in the use of Microsoft Office preferred, utilizing Outlook, word processing, spreadsheet, ArcInfo and AutoCAD software programs as well as data entry skills.
