The purpose of this position is to perform diverse duties in the daily day-to-day operation, maintenance and patrol of the Three Rivers Greenway and related City of Columbia facilities under general limited supervision. Work involves being responsible for the safety and security of parks and patrons. Work also involves exercising tact and courtesy in contact with the public, distributing general information and leading educational and recreational programs.
Qualifications
Graduation from high school, vocational school, or GED; Associate's degree preferred, in park management, or closely related field with one (1) year of work experience in maintenance and repair of facilities and in general grounds maintenance of lawns and landscape activities, preferably as a Park Ranger.
Special Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class "D" Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and be able to express ideas clearly and concisely orally and in writing. May be required to work overtime, weekends, holidays, etc., as needed in order to accomplish assigned work on a forty-hour (40) rotating basis.
