The purpose of this position is to perform professional and technical work in current and long-range programs related to the development and implementation of land use plans and policies, capital improvements, infrastructure development and other City projects and programs; and to perform related work as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in urban or regional planning, or closely related field with one (1) year of work experience in developing and/or assisting in the development and implementation of growth management, land use, infrastructure and other plans to meet the City's needs. Confers with and advises engineers, developers, architects, surveyors, property owners and citizens in the coordination of planning projects and in the interpretation and enforcement of City ordinances.
Special Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class "D" Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have knowledge of personal computer equipment with skill in the use of Microsoft Office preferred, utilizing Outlook, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and data base software programs as well as data entry skills.
Special Notes
Will be required to attend meetings after normal work hours in order to accomplish assigned work.
