The purpose of this position is to plan, direct, supervise and evaluate a comprehensive and diverse recreation program to meet the recreation needs of the community, to administer the daily operation of the Recreation Division, and to perform related professional, administrative and supervisory work as required.
Bachelor's degree in parks and recreation administration, or closely related field with four (4) years work experience in planning, directing and supervising the programs and activities of the Recreation Division; supervises the duties of division staff to ensure compliance with all department and City policies and procedures, standards of quality and safety, and all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations; assists in developing strategic plans to help the department meet the growing recreation needs of the community; assists staff in planning and implementing activities and events.
Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class "D" Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have knowledge of personal computer equipment with skill in the use of Microsoft Office preferred, utilizing Outlook, word processing and spreadsheet software programs.
