We have an excellent opportunity for a Purchasing Supervisor in our Troy, Ohio manufacturing facility.

In this position, the successful candidate will perform the following job responsibilities:

1) Supervise junior buyers in their decision making on inventory management, driving improved inventory turns.

2) Drive root cause solutions to parts outages to minimize the impact on the business and improve inventory accuracy.

3) Oversee all engineering changes and ensure proper material requirements and/or dispositions are in place.

4) Involvement in all new project charters to perform all analysis needed for project justification and materials readiness for implementation date.

5) Lead and manage all cost savings projects that are material related to report to upper management.

6) Lead and direct buyers in driving more inventory to a VMI type system.

7) Plan and analyze material requirements for assigned materials using available forecast, historic information, current industry information and company inventory objectives.

8) Maintain records and files relative to planning activities to assure information availability to other required personnel.

9) Purchase raw materials and finished goods as assigned at best possible cost and quality to meet company specifications.

10) Investigate new sources and products to improve quality and cost.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree is required. 5 plus years experience in purchasing/buying and inventory control in a manufacturing environment is required. Excellent negotiation skills, basic accounting skills and inventory control skills are required. Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
