Director of Financial Planning Analysis

 

The Director of Financial Planning Analysis (FPA) is responsible for leading the FPA team responsible for budgeting, complex modeling, forecasting and reporting as well as ad hoc analysis on key business initiatives for a $2 billion dollar line of business.  This position reports to the Sr. Director of FPA.

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

·         Lead team of analysts in the annual planning process, which includes:

·                     Frequent interaction and consultation with senior executives to construct Revenue, Product Cost, Direct Operating Cost, Marketing, and GA department budgets

·                     Summarization and recommendation of budget requests for executive level audience

·                     Analysis of annual plan against key business drivers and metrics, keeping process and business improvement at the forefront

·                     Preparation of annual planning package for Board of Directors

·         Lead team of analysts in monthly forecasting and reporting:

·                     Review and analyze monthly variance reporting vs. forecast … involves overseeing complex models that have significant impact to corporate forecasting

·                     Consult and influence executives regarding variances and institute action plans, as needed

·                     Lead forecasting processes for Revenue, Product Cost, Direct Operating Cost, Marketing, and GA departments

·                     Prepare and present monthly reviews of actual results and updated forecasts to Executive leadership including redbox and corporate executives and the Board of Directors

·         Maintain and enhance the 5 year financial model based on company's planning needs

·         Influence executives at weekly performance optimization meetings with effective performance reports and updated forecasts

·         Take leading role in consulting with department leaders and assist, when needed, in the preparation of business cases to be reviewed by executive leadership

·         Act as key team member that provides guidance related to key business projects that impact the broader FPA team and forecasting

·         Various ad hoc business analysis including: research, presenting alternative strategies to current plans, modeling impact of various business decisions

·         Lead and mentor team of financial analysts 

 

Qualifications Experience:

·         BA Finance or related field required, MBA preferred (experience may substitute)

·         6+ years of work experience principally focused on Finance or  Planning Analysis

·         Prior experience leading high performing teams

·         Mastery of Excel to both create complex financial models that enable decision making related to critical business proposals and to to mentor team in best practices

·         Ability to create

·         Prior experience developing direct reports' financial analysis skills

·         Outstanding work ethic and ability to work independently

·         Team player, able to work with various levels in the company, flexible, comfortable in a fast paced environment

·         Demonstrated ability to collaborate, present, and interact with executives

·         Ability to multi-task projects and adjust priorities of a team in an efficient manner

·         Proactively institute various types of analysis to better understand business needs

·         Ability to work in an ambiguous environment and a high level of intellectual curiosity

·         Ability to delegate
