Rubi - Director of Technical Delivery

We are looking for a creative leader who will be responsible for providing the overall technical leadership and strategy for the business, playing a key role in achieving our overall growth plans.  This Leader of Technology is responsible for building and leading the team that designs, develops, delivers and supports our automated retail kiosk solution.  He/she will pull from their strong and thorough technology leadership experience to oversee the development of the software/hardware systems and the overall technology platform. This role will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Technical Delivery, and be a key member of the Rubi leadership team.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

·         Create a clear technology roadmap spanning aspects of hardware and software that meet business launch, scale, and quality objectives

·         Identify, evaluate and select new and emerging technologies that create a competitive edge in the deployment of the Rubi product

·         Able to think like a customer, using in-depth knowledge of software development and hardware engineering to integrate technology strategy with business strategy and create a better customer experience

·         Direct the prioritization, analysis, design, development, testing and release of all products

·         Track record of attracting and retaining great technology talent

·         Manage 3rd party technology and development partners

·         Participate in the development and management of the Corporate Patent and Intellectual Property portfolio

·         Work with GM, Marketing, and Product Management to understand business drivers, market requirements and competitive issues that may impact departmental strategies and influence technology decisions

·         Understand the technology capabilities of the other Coinstar Inc. companies and look for opportunities to leverage their technology to improve the Rubi platform

Qualifications Experience:

·         The equivalent education and training to a BS in Computer Science/Engineering.   Advanced technical degree or strong concentration in electrical / mechanical engineering helpful but not required

·         This position requires a minimum of 8 to 12 years of technology leadership experience developing and managing software/hardware systems with ideally leading technology in 1-2 venture capital backed start-ups

·         Demonstrated track record building high performance product teams spanning software and quality assurance (where the software is used on a hardware device) consisting of 15-20 employees and successful commercial product launches

·         Proven ability to develop innovative, creative solutions to channeling software engineering problems

·         Experience creating competitive advantage through architecture, system, solution and software strategies

·         Experience with internet or other consumer-oriented startup business highly desirable

·         Able to balance the strategic goals with nimble tactical execution in a fast paced environment

·         The successful candidate will be a superb communicator, with both technical and business stakeholders throughout the organization and externally with partners
