Marketing Manager

Alula is a new kiosk and start-up business unit within the Coinstar LOB. Our fun quirky yellow kiosks give people cash for their unwanted gift cards.  We have kiosks installed in Chicago, Columbus and Phoenix and have been liberating people from their unwanted gift cards for about a year.  You can find out more about Alula at www.alula.com.    

We are looking to hire a manager to help us with all things marketing.  This person owns the planning, research, and execution of all marketing strategies and tactical plans.  The Marketing Manager is responsible for thoroughly understanding our customer base and driving revenue through customer outreach, trial, acquisition, and ongoing engagement and development. He/she will be responsible for all marketing programs that include in-store, web, email, social media, and promotions, among others. This person should be entrepreneurial, adaptable, and hands-on given that Alula is a "start-up" within a larger line of business. The Marketing Manager will be a critical contributor to the business and member of the core Alula management team. This role will report to the GM/VP of Alula. This position is based in Bellevue, WA.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

·         Develop and manage high impact marketing programs that drive awareness, trial, and engagement

·         Identify and collaborate with external service providers to execute marketing programs

·         Help manage creative direction and translate brand guidelines into impactful design

·         Develop effective consumer promotions programs in stores

·         Manage social media and leverage emerging technologies

·         Develop email marketing initiatives that leverage our growing consumer base

·         Assist with primary consumer research and customer service initiatives

·         Develop and measure metrics to determine the effectiveness of various marketing initiatives

·         Work in close collaboration with head of product for Alula and Coinstar marketing team

·         Work directly with and help manage retail partners to customize marketing plans

·         Given the start-up environment, this person will at times have to handle non-marketing duties as required to support the business

Qualifications Experience:

·         BA is required, MBA a plus

·         4-8 years Marketing, Advertising or a related field with increasing responsibilities

·         Proven track record of successful marketing management and strategy

·         Superior understanding of marketing and sales, including pricing, positioning, and integrated campaign development

·         Experience writing research requirements and overseeing research projects

·         Ability to work independently with vague goals and short deadlines and deliver outstanding results

·         Demonstrated deep functional expertise in Marketing Communications … both B2B and B2C

·         Experience integrating social media programs into broader marketing platform

·         Ability to influence peers and cross-functional teams to reach aggressive goals. 

·         Strong critical thinking and analytic skills

·         Superb communication skills, both written and oral

·         Passion for creative problem-solving and a flair for thinking outside the box

·         Strong desire to do the right thing and be personally committed to the outcome

·         Willingness to fight hard for a desired outcome but ability to compromise when required

·         Entrepreneurial, flexible, and eager to work in fast changing and growing environment
