Assist and support individuals in making choices in their life. Maintain individuals' rights by complying with all applicable laws and regulations. Provide programmatic direct care services to individuals with intelectual disabilities. May be required to dispense medication in accordance with all applicable regulations. Based on assignment may be required to drive individuals to work, appointments, and recreational outings. Perform other related work as required. Qualifications: Minimum Entrance Requirements: None Special Requirements: Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Based on assignment, must be certified in the administration of medication under M.G.L. c. 19B, ss. 1, 13, and 14, and M.G.L. c. 2 and 17 to dispense medication. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications Understand and write in the English Language. Physically assist and lift individuals. Comments: THIS IS AN OPEN CONTINUOUS POSTING. Position locations range from Waltham campus to the South Shore and Western part of the state. Work hours and days off vary from full-time to part-time to meet the needs of the department. Applicants must be flexible in work schedule. All applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment medical exam and a strength/dexterity test. All applicants are required to have a Massachusetts drivers license. This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" Position in the Department of Developmental Services Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, you will be required to report to work. This is a 24hour/7 days a week staff position. The Department of Developmental Services requires employees in this position to be able to perform "MANDATORY OVERTIME" when circumstances dictate the need. A criminal background check will be completed on the recommended candidate as required by the regulations set forth by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services prior to the candidate being hired.
