This position is funded from the Commonwealth's annual operating budget.Duties:
Participates in the delivery of health care services to developmentally disabled persons in order to ensure: prevention of illness, promotion of health; maintenance of functioning; promotion of maximum independence; orient new personnel. The principles of normalization will be integrated in the delivery of health care services; performs other related work as required.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: None. (See Section XIII, Special Requirements.)

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a current and valid license as a practical nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.

THIS IS AN OPEN CONTINUOUS POSTING. DDS FILLS THESE POSITIONS ON AN ON-GOING BASIS AS STAFF TURNOVER AND NEW PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT OCCURS. Schedule, Shift and Days-Off vary. Salaries are based on Full-time 40 hours/week. Part-Time salaries will be prorated based on number of hours worked per week.A criminal background check will be completed on the recommended candidate as required by the regulations set forth by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services prior to the candidate being hired. This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" Position in the Department of Developmental Services Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, you will be required to report to work.
This is a 24 hour/7 days a week staff position. The Department of Mental Retardation requires employees in this position to be able to perform mandatory overtime when circumstances dictate the need.
