Distribution of medications, monitoring for effects; treatments, monitoring nutrition, ISP documentation, yearly health maintenance, make and attend appointments with residents, advocate with primary doctor and specialist. Must have good communication skills to work with direct care staff, workshops, service coordinators and families. LPN II's are considered part of coverage with the direct care. LPN II's will be responsible for providing some training. Performs other related duties as required. May be required to enter information into personal computer, comfortable with data entries. Qualifications: MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, paraprofessional experience in the field of nursing as a licensed practical nurse. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a current and valid license as a practical nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. Preferred Qualifications: Understand and write in the English Language. Physically assist and lift individuals. Comments: THIS IS AN OPEN CONTINUOUS POSTING for Metro Residential Services. Locations range from Waltham Campus to the South Shore and Western part of the state. Hours worked and days off vary from full-time to part-time to meet the needs of the Department. Depending of work location and additional Area DIfferential may be paid. Applicants must be flexible in schedule. All applicants must be able to pass a criminal offender record check, pre-employment medical exam. All applicants are required to have a valid driver's license. THis position is designated as an 'EMERGENCY' position in the Department of Developmental Services Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, you will be required to report to work. This is a 24hour/7 days a week staff position. The Department of Developmental Services requires employees in this position to be able to perform "MANDATORY OVERTIME" when circumstances dictate the need.
