Primary nursing care by assessing, recording health care, administering/supervising treatments, monitoring MAP program. Develops and implements health care plans according with PCP orders and MRS policies. Acts as medical advocate at appointments or through other communication with PCP. Facilitates the communication of medical information to all aspects of the medical team. Acts as liaison for hospitalized residents for family and/or group home. Direct clinical supervision on LPN staff. Provides various trainings to staff within the assigned work area and to be available for trainings in other group homes when deemed necessary. Other related duties as required. Will be required to enter data in specific data basis, email, HCSISI and Meditech. May be required to drive between work sites on a daily basis. Qualifications: MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience as a registered nurse in a recognized hospital, clinic or medical facility, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A Graduate degree with a major in Nursing may be substituted for the required experience .* *Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL LEVELS IN SERIES: Current and valid registration as a professional nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing . * *Recent graduates from an approved school of nursing must have applied for the first available registered nurse examination. Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's license may be required. Preferred Qualifications: Understand and write in the English Language. Comments: This is an open continuous posting. Hours and days off vary to meet the needs of the department. Position locations vary from Waltham campus to the South Shore and the Western part of the State. All applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment medical exam. Applicants are required to possess a valid dirivers license as there will be travel between work sites. Applicants must be flexible in schedule. Ability to physically assist and lift individuals. This is a 24hour/7 days a week staff position. The Department of Developmental Services requires employees in this position to be able to perform "MANDATORY OVERTIME" when circumstances dictate the need. This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" POSITION IN THE DEPARTMENT OF Developmental Services EMERGENCY PLAN. THIS MEANS THAT WHENEVER THE GOVERNOR DECLARES THAT THE COMMONWEALTH IS IN A STATE OF EMERGENCY, YOU WILL BE REUIRED TO REPORT TO WORK. Additionally, Salaries quoted are for full-time status only.
