Hogan Regional Center and Northeast Residential Services provide services in a community home setting in the following towns and municipalities: Acton, Amesbury, Bedford, Beverly, Billerica, Burlington, Chelmsford, Danvers, Dracut, Georgetown, Hamilton, Haverhill, Lynn, Lynnfield, Maynard, Methuen, Medford, Newburyport, North Andover, North Reading, Peabody, Reading, Saugus, Stoneham, Tewksbury, Tyngsboro, Wakefield, Wenham, Wilmington and Woburn.

This position is funded from the Commonwealth's annual operating budget.Duties:
Participates in and plans for the delivery of health care services to developmentally disabled persons in order to ensure prevention of illness, promotion of health, maintenance of function, promotion of maximum independence. Ensures that health-related self-care needs are integrated into programmatic services for each individual. Provides psycho-social support; establish plans of individual care; investigate and act on all complaints by individuals and others; admit and discharge individuals; confer with other health care professionals; orient new personnel and perform related duties as required.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must have at least (A) one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience as a registered nurse in a recognized hospital, clinic or medical facility, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

Substitutions:

I. A Graduate degree with a major in Nursing may be substituted for the required experience .*

*Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL LEVELS IN SERIES: Current and valid registration as a professional nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing . *

*Recent graduates from an approved school of nursing must have applied for the first available registered nurse examination.

Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's license may be required.

THIS IS AN OPEN CONTINUOUS POSTING. DDS FILLS THESE POSITIONS ON AN ON-GOING BASIS AS STAFF TURNOVER AND NEW PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT OCCURS. Schedule, Shift and Days-Off vary. Salaries are based on Full-time 40 hours/week. Part-Time salaries will be prorated based on number of hours worked per week. This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" Position in the Department of Developmental Services Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, you will be required to report to work.
This is a 24 hour/7 days a week staff position. The Department of Mental Retardation requires employees in this position to be able to perform mandatory overtime when circumstances dictate the need.
