A Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician performs a variety of duties in and around the buildings of the Hospital complex to assist the tradesmen and other workmen. Duties to include but not limited to, FIRE ALARM & RELATED COMPONENTS, EMERGENCY GENERATOR, TELEPHONE SYSTEM, ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS(normal & emergency), ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT. Also is expected to take ON CALL as per dept. rotation. As assistant to the Director of Plant Operations duties will include but are not limited to being in charge of the department in the absence of the Director, helping oversee on going projects, take part in or conduct departmental meetings. May be exposed to working with power equipment. May be exposed to hazards of an electrical, mechanical, or chemical nature. May be exposed to all indoor and outdoor conditions.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Must follow accepted safety practices for patients and hospital.
* Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action.
* Must participate in safety instructional programs.
* Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, and medical or employments status of patients at the Hospital and their families.

Education:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Experience:
Three years in the commercial / industrial electrical field.Primary Locaiton: NM-Hobbs
