Location: OH-Massillon (Canton region)
The competent Surgical Assistant contributes to the planning and implementation of care for surgical patients in accordance with departmental standards of care and practice. Provides assisting skills in retraction and suctioning, providing exposure. Sutures skillfully all varieties of surgical cases. Communicates with surgeon continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides care for neonates through geriatrics

Qualifications / Skills: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist First Assistant program. Current BLS required. On-call hours in addition to worked day required. Rotating and variable hours of weekday, weekend, and holiday call required with a 30-minute response time from time of notification. Certification preferred upon hire.
