The Center for Urban Community Services invites applications for a Summer Internship position at the CUCS Administrative Office located in East Harlem to work in Quality Assurance and Policy Development. The interns can expect to learn about the functioning of non-profit organizations, strategies for ensuring high performance in social service programs, the operation of management teams in social service organizations, how policies and procedures are developed, services and public policy affecting homeless and low income people, and electronic medical records.

The Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS) is a pioneer in creating comprehensive, effective housing and service programs for homeless and low-income people, primarily single adults, particularly those suffering from serious mental illness, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, and other disabling conditions. Since its inception at Columbia University in 1979, CUCS has also worked to improve public policy affecting the homeless and dispossessed. Thousands of formerly homeless people have found independence and rebuilt their lives with the help of CUCS' programs and services.
