We have a 3 month contract assignment for a Fund Accountant -

Responsible for maintaining accounting records of investment portfolios structured as partnerships or trusts.

You will be responsible for daily accounting, partnership allocations, distributions, compliance review, ad hoc internal reporting, and financial statement preparation.

Respond to inquiries from clients, marketing representatives and portfolio managers and for tasks such as trade input, income postings, asset and cash reconciliations, and wires. I

nvestments include public and private debt and equity securities.

Additional responsibilities include resolving any out of balance condition, identifying and communicating issues that affect the accuracy of the accounting records, and participating in group assignments such as audits and special projects.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree required with a major in Accounting or equivalent experience.

1-2 years of financial industry experience. Preferably in partnership, hedge fund, real estate or private equity accounting.

Prior financial statement preparation experience preferred.

Strong computer (Excel, Word, accounting systems) and analytical skills.
