EMC is currently seeking an experienced software developer for an immediate opening. The successful candidate will be a member of EMC’s Unified Storage Division, the leading provider of high-performing unified storage with unsurpassed simplicity and efficiency, optimized for virtual applications. The successful candidate will work with a team of talented individuals to analyze requirements, create or review functional specifications, implement server code in C++ and SQL, and work closely with QA to review test plans and test cases. The candidate must have solid understanding of object-oriented methodologies and software development lifecycle and be able to understand and follow recommended development processes. S/he must demonstrate flexibility, strong motivation, excellent problem solving and communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team as well as work independently. A solid background in storage technologies is highly desired. Principal Duties & Responsibilities * Write high level design specs, unit test plans and integration test plans. * Analyze and code complex modules, define data structures, and specify test tools. * Sphere of influence is likely to extend outside of work group or department. * Represents the organization on project teams and may perform technical project leadership roles. * Contributes to the development and achievement of organizational goals and objectives. * Develops new software engineering methods or processes, re-evaluate existing processes. * Accountable for delivery of subsystem, anticipate issues and addresses proactively. Professional Qualifications * BS and/or MS (preferred) in Computer Science or equivalent. * 6+ years of software design and development experience including full SDLC * Proficient in C, C++ development in a Linux environment * Demonstrated expertise in OOD * Experience with SQL and data modeling highly desired * System level experience on Linux Skills * Ability to work in an agile team environment * Knowledge and experience in storage technologies highly desired * Excellent communication skills working in a distributed team * Ability to lead small teams in specification, estimation and implementation MNST ad-indeed Competencies "> "> Research Triangle Park (RTP) Ranked 7 consecutive years as one of the Best Places to Work by the Triangle Business Journal, EMC’s 174k sqft facility in RTP houses the North Carolina R&D functions for the USD, Solutions Engineering, BRS & RSA teams, and is EMC’s largest remote training facility in the country.
