Job Description Role Description:EIM Solution Architects are individuals who participate in a wide range of Data Management related consulting engagements. These projects may include current state assessments; requirements definition and solution design technology solutions; implementing solutions including new tools and technologies, custom or purchased applications; or preparing justifications for technology and services investment. EIM Solution Architects are responsible for creating deliverables in client engagements which assess the current state of a client’s portfolio of data management solutions and define a future state of data management solutions which meet client requirements. Client deliverables for which the EIM Solution Architect may be responsible also include investment justification analysis, tool or technology selection recommendation, and implementation plan development. EIM Solution Architects may participate in specifying a client technical or organizational solution in advance of client engagement as part of pre-sales activity, response for proposal (RFP), or client engagement design (statement of work). Responsibilities for Role: · Translate project requirements or statement of work into a list of activities, deliverables, and resource assignments that can be presented to client and used to manage project progress · Develop data management solution designs that meet client requirements in the areas of DW/BI, MDM, Metadata, Big Data, Analytics, Content Management) · Prepare and present proposed data management solution designs to colleagues and clients · Communicate status and issues concerning agreed deliverables and designs to management and project management · Support project management in identifying and obtaining required resources and reviewing project deliverables · Coordinate with EMC personnel also assigned to projects, both those located at client locations and those operating remotely. Includes coordination with off-shore EMC resources and EMC partner resources. · Track and communicate status of deliverables and issues as prescribed by EMC and client Skills Required: · Specific EIM Skills Required: o Expertise in various Enterprise Information Management areas including Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, Master Data Management, Metadata, Cloud Solutions, and Big Data o Detailed hands on technical experience in constructing specific data management solutions and working in-depth with various tools and technologies in Data Management o An understanding of and experience with data security and privacy concerns and regulations in various industries, especially in the U.S., and experience integrating data security rules and regulations with data management solutions o Exposure to ITIL process implementation and “data as a service” is a plus o Experience with virtual servers (VMWare) is a plus · General Consulting Skills Required: o Work-planning, Resource Estimating, and Issue Resolution o Willingness to travel close to 100% to client sites o Experience with various project life cycle methodologies including waterfall and agile o Ability to translate requirements into plans with resources, tasks, deliverables, and timeframes o Experience with MS Office Suite o Ability to manage detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments o Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment o Excellent oral and written English communication skills o Strong teamwork and collaboration skills o Willingness to manage and resolve logistics issues concerned with work at client sites, book travel, and file expenses according to EMC and client requirements · Personal Qualities: o Delivery oriented o Quality Focused o Efficient o Well spoken o Flexible o Collaborative o Motivated Experience Required: · 10+ years experience or a minimum of 5 completed medium to large project implementations · General Enterprise Information Management area · 5+ years consulting experience · Certification in a Data Management discipline, Data Security, or a particular vendor data management solution is a plus Education: · Undergraduate degree (or Graduate degree preferred) in any of the following disciplines: o Engineering o Computer Science o MIS o Other Technology or Business Fields Region NA Apply on Company Website |
