We are a post sales group who performs assessment down to operational support/knowledge transfer services for our clients. We seek backup specialists to join our practice

We typically undertake cutting edge technical projects on behalf of EMC, which in the coming months/years is going to be quite busy due to the new technology order (cloud computing, big data, etc).

The potential downside of our practice to some people is that it typically assumes considerable travel due to our end client focus.

We can hire through contractual/incorporated or full time terms.

Experience with core SAN/Storage/NAS (VMAX/VNX/Celerra), VMware, competitor product lines on top of this would be quite nice….

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Senior Operations Specialist/Back up/BRS technologies provides operational support and guidance to customers to support the management and use of EMC Backup solutions.

Responsible for performing a wide variety of daily management tasks as well as providing recommendations for effective and efficient Backup use.

Capable of working with minimal supervision.

Considered an expert in the implementation and use of EMC and related Backup solutions.

Knowledgeable of industry best practices in the implementation of complex Backup environments. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with EMC Sales, TS and external customers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide proactive recommendations to the customer for improving Backup operations and/or effective use of EMC Backup solutions to help maximize their satisfaction with EMC.
Responsible for performing daily operational tasks like provisioning and maintaining availability at the customer site(s). Provisions based on standardized procedures as outlined by EMC best practice documentation
Participates in the execution of the business continuance and disaster recovery plans as agreed upon by EMC and the customer.
Participates in the design and operational execution of the customer's disaster recovery process as required.
Performs necessary infrastructure maintenance in accordance with EMC and customer's change management policies.
Represents EMC in a professional manner to customers, EMC Partners and other EMC personnel at all times. May be required to support and instruct less experienced co-workers, through classroom training sessions or on-the-job mentoring. Trains customer personnel when authorized by TS Management or as part of the specific Statement of Work (SOW).
Participates in the continual review and improvement of existing operational policies and procedures in compliance with EMC's management best practices.
Performs other duties as required. EMC Proven Professional Certification desired.

SKILLS

Operational/implementation/and/or hands design experience in EMC Backup related product lines such as Data Domain (DD), Avamar and/or Networker.

Experience with EMC Storage/SAN technologies such as VMAX, DMX, VNX, Clariion, and/or Replication/migration type of software a nice plus

Experience with VMWare and other virtualization technologies a nice plus.

Knowledge of the technical aspects of hardware/software subject matter.
