Description
Goldendale, WA ED

Klickitat Valley Hospital is a critical access hospital that serves all of central and eastern Klickitat County. Our staff of 100+ medical professionals provide quality, comprehensive services in:

Surgical Services   •   Emergency Services
Diagnostic Imaging  •  Laboratory Services
Physical Occupational Therapy
Respiratory Therapy  •  Cardiac Testing
Swing Bed Program with Rehab Care and Extended Care
 Diabetes Self-Management  •  Clinical Pharmacy

The hospital is licensed as a 25 bed facility. In addition to general inpatient services, we are certified to offer Swing Beds , a program designed for patients who no longer need acute care, but do need skilled medical care on a temporary basis. This care can prepare a patient for returning home or for 'transitioning' to long-term care. Our Discharge Planning staff works closely with patients and their families to ensure a smooth process from one level of care to another.

Regional Connections
Positive working relationships with medical facilities outside of our service area ensure patient access to cardiac, trauma and neonatal intensive care services. Our Life Flight medivac service enables air transfers of serious trauma patients to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon, the region's closest Level 1 Trauma Center, as well as other specialty hospitals.

A s an institutional member of the U of WA Family Medicine Spokane Rural Residency Training Program and the Columbia Gorge Community College and Heritage College Nursing Programs , Klickitat Valley Hospital serves as a training site for doctors and nursing professionals who, in turn, help to keep rural healthcare vibrant and growing.

Investing In The Future
Public support for the hospital has been strong since it's inaugural in 1949, and continues today. Our latest bond measure has funded a 20,000 sq. ft. building addition that includes a new Diagnostic Imaging Department, enlarged Emergency Services capacity and numerous technology and facility upgrades.
