FARO is seeking a Sales Engineer in the Columbus, OH area who will work from a home based office. If you are a recent Engineering graduate in Mechanical, Aerospace or similar Engineering field who wants to be a sales trainee and work in the field helping customers solve their problems by learning to sell them solutions, this is the ideal role for you. The individual taking this position will move into a full Outside Sales Account Manager role within a year and be responsible for carrying a quota at that time.

SCOPE:
Perform duties to learn the sales process and provide application specific support at customer locations including troubleshooting and metrology expertise, initial equipment setup, and technical demonstrations of hardware and software products, guided by precedent and working within the limits of established policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Travel alongside Account Managers to understand the customer base, product applications, demonstration process and sales cycle.
  2. Establish and maintain credibility as technical subject matter expert and internal technical consultant.  
  3. Provide application specific product demonstrations and support throughout the lead generation and sales process.
  4. Set up and test equipment at new customer installations.
  5. Assist customer in implementing customized FARO measurement solutions for customers' specific processes and parts.
  6. Respond to technical support/assistance inquiries as directed.
  7. Actively seek ways to continuously improve products and services, providing feedback to Product Management

Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
On a regular basis, lifting of average or heavy weight materials over 50 lbs, occasional bending, stooping and upper body arm rotation, frequent pushing, pulling, sitting, standing and reaching and some climbing.


HIRING REQUIREMENTS:



  • Desire to move into a full sales role
  • BS Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, related Engineering field, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent understanding of 2D and 3D CAD
  • Clear oral/written communications
  • Interpersonal and team skills
  • Eligible for US employment
  • Valid Driver's License Clean Driving Record
  • Up to 80% weekday travel

HIRING PREFERENCES:
• Sales or Customer Service experience
• Technical consulting experience
• Metrology and / or imaging applications experience
• Presentation skills
• GDT experience
