This vibrant small town combines all the beauty and charm of its 200-year history with a thriving 21st-Century energy that provides the best of all worlds in schools, property values, convenience, recreation and health care.

It is a scenic town that boasts broad, tree-lined streets, thriving downtown, lots of public parks and churches, year-round activities and events, and a convenient and very safe community environment in which to live. Most of this is on the National Register of Historic Places and it is named as a “Tree City USA”. The school system and public library are both top rated, and there is a national award-winning historical museum. Because of its safe, walkable, family-friendly neighborhoods, highly acclaimed school system, convenient shopping and plenty of outdoor possibilities, Pittsburgh Magazine named this community among the region's "Top-10 Neighborhoods".

Just minutes from Pittsburgh, in the rolling hills and river valleys of Western
Pennsylvania, awaits a quaint and well-kept neighborhood. This city is considered a rural location that in many instances lives and celebrates European cultures and traditions, but with all the amenities and conveniences found in a world-class city nearby. Plentiful land and affordable homes are located in some of the safest neighborhoods in the nation.

With nearly 5% of the Town acreage dedicated to public park use and open space, outdoor recreation is within a few blocks from nearly everywhere in the Borough. One of the Town’s outstanding features is the 1.3-mile riverside park overlooking a river. The park stretches the length of the Borough and is a popular regional gathering place for running, walking, biking and rollerblading. The linear park’s panoramic backdrop of the pristine undeveloped hillsides across a nearby river is matchless in this part ofWestern Pennsylvania.
