Position Overview

The Director (Annuity Product Manager) is responsible for the development, deployment and ongoing support of annuity products on the FundsNetwork platform. Reporting to the Vice President of Product Management & Strategy, the Director is responsible for the strategy, systems and operational process for deploying an end-to-end service model for annuities on the platform.

Product ownership responsibilities include development, deployment and ongoing support of annuity products offered on the FundsNetwork platform as well as providing subject matter support to business channel partners and third party insurance carriers. The candidate will assist with developing the resource plan and managing relationship across businesses to ensure service models and organizational readiness meets the product’s needs; including development, deployment and ongoing end-to-end servicing of the offering. This includes product positioning, pricing, processing and competitive analysis

Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for development, deployment and ongoing end-to-end servicing of an annuity offering through the FundsNetwork platform. Responsible for creating and documenting product offering including end-to-end operational and business functions, including operational trading and support models, pricing, billing, training and product documentation and support. This role is also responsible to ensure product is competitive and provides investment options to meet the diverse needs of our business channel partner clients.
Develop, deploy, and maintain platform offering of annuity products as outlined in the FundsNetwork Investment Product Roadmap
Lead the creation, execution and monitoring of the end-to-end service model for annuity products through collaboration with internal business and support partners
Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the FundsNetwork Product and Operational Guides for annuity products supported through FundsNetwork. Guide includes: documentation of all processes that support the product offering including: creation of end to end workflows, roles and responsibilities/ownership of primary functions and processes, product offering and positioning
Serves as SME for internal/external inquires and escalations
Manage day to day product tasks/issue
Responsible for product education; designs and delivers product training materials
Leads technical enhancements to address gaps in the platform offering
Work in partnership with the business units and other FundsNetwork associates to identify areas of opportunities relating to the annuity product offering and alignment with the distribution channels
Work with FundsNetwork associates, insurance carriers and business partners to identify “How to” responses to commonly asked questions or to address common issues.
Provide active FundsNetwork representation on cross company technology and operational support projects
Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with stakeholders
Develop project plans, define success measures and create associated communication documents on any annuity related investment product enhancements. Deliver projects on budget and on-time
Provide internal and fund company focused updates and education around all product enhancements

Revenue and Scale and Efficiency
Accountable for development and implementation of initiatives that impact revenue generation and cost savings
Responsible for ensuring that process are designed to support scale of the product and drive efficiency into the day to day processing

Market Focus and Leadership
Identify strengths and weaknesses of annuity product line up and provide recommendation for new approach
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the current market, the competitive landscape and industry trends
Understand the regulatory landscape and how changes to existing regulations will impact the investment product offering

Legal and Regulatory
Work with VP of Product Management and Strategy to address any legal or compliance changes relating to annuity products supported through FundsNetwork
Lead tactical initiatives to drive implementation of product striating incorporating current and new regulatory changes
Maintenance of FundsNetwork policy and procedures relating to annuity products supported


Education and Experience
5-10 years’ experience in the financial services industry , specifically with an insurance firm, or working directly with one
Demonstrated knowledge of group annuity insurance products is required
Proven track record in the product management/development of annuity products – specifically in the TEM/DC markets
BS/BA required; licenses tbd

Skills and Knowledge
Strong understanding of the group annuity marketplace and offering
Candidate must understand the unique operational and business processes that support annuity products
Strong process orientation
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and proven ability to build productive working relationships with diverse business functions is required.
Strong communication, influence and leadership skills
Presentation and product management skills are essential to success
Candidate must be able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver business results
Candidate must have proven business writing skills and be able to develop detailed processes and workflows
Eagerness to take initiative and work in teams, but also think independently
Understanding of the platform offering and how investment products are positioned in the respective business units
Familiarity with Fidelity's processing systems (FBSI, FPRS, GUIDE etc.) is a plus
