The Fidelity Benefits Consulting Group is comprised of over 230 professionals who advise clients on the management of their domestic benefits. We are a fast growing business within Fidelity, providing a broad range of services that touch on every area of benefits design, strategy, funding, communication and delivery. Position Overview

Provide actuarial services and consulting advice to clients regarding their benefit programs including defined benefit, defined contribution and health and welfare plans. You will lead consulting projects, oversee multiple, concurrent consulting assignments and follow through with clients at senior decision making levels to implement recommendations. Consultants also participate in and contribute to people development in the office.

Major Responsibilities

  • The consultant typically works with and advises chief financial officers and Human Resource officers of mid to large size companies regarding their retirement and other benefit programs.

  • Review and Manage annual pension valuations for clients

  • Manager projects including plan terminations, merger acquisition, compliance, plan amendments and plan designs

  • Train associate consultants and analysts to ensure continued development of the staff.

  • Prepare reports for client presentations

  • Complete/review required compliance tasks (government forms and non-discrimination testing).

  • Manage client budget and set expectations and client deadlines. Provide comprehensive documentation on your clients.

  • Prepare responses to RFPs and RFIs for new prospects and participate in new business meetings with prospects.

  • Generate new business leads.


Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably with a concentration in mathematics or actuarial science

  • The ideal candidate will have A.S.A., E.A. or F.S.A., E.A. credentials and

  • 8 plus years of experience in a pension and benefit consulting firm or related industry

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of benefit program design, legislative, account and regulatory requirements (IRS/DOL/FAS/PBGC/ERISA/409A/PPA).

  • A.S.A., E.A. or F.S.A., E.A. credentials and passed all actuarial exams preferred but both credentialed and non-credentialed associates desired

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills including the ability to build relationships at all organizational levels

  • Demonstrate the ability to negotiate with other business partners

  • Superior teamwork skills
