Description
Description Under very limited direction, the Senior Associate /Consultant provides actuarial services and consulting advice to clients regarding their benefit programs including defined benefit, defined contribution and health and welfare plans. Lead consulting projects, oversee multiple, concurrent consulting assignments and follow through with clients at senior decision making levels to implement recommendations. Senior Associate/ Consultants also participate in and contribute to people development and training in the office. Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform Pension valuations including (ERISA, FAS 87, FAS 106), cost and benefit design studies, non-discrimination testing, benefit statements and compliance
  • Train and assist Analysts to ensure the continued development of staff
  • Help coordinate and manage projects and budgets
  • Prepare reports for client presentations and complete/review required compliance tasks (government forms and non-discrimination testing).
  • Other projects including; mergers/acquisitions/divestitures, plan terminations, cost and benefit design studies
  • Collaborating with internal business partners across diverse disciplines to develop and implement effective solutions on behalf of our clients
  • Prepare for Actuarial exams

Qualifications Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferably with a concentration in mathematics or actuarial science.
  • More than 5 years of experience in a pension and benefit consulting firm or related industry

Skills and Knowledge

  • The candidate should have- Excellent oral and written communication skills; superior teamwork skills; strong time management skills; Knowledge of benefit program design, legislative, account and regulatory requirements (IRS/DOL/FAS/PBGC/ERISA/409A/PPA).
  • Preferably at least 3-5 actuarial exams
