Description Position Description The Fidelity Benefits Consulting Group is comprised of over 230 professionals who advise clients on the management of their domestic benefits. We are a fast growing business within Fidelity, providing a broad range of services that touch on every area of benefits design, strategy, funding, communication and delivery. Most of our team comes from other leading consulting firms and universities. While we focus on working with the Fortune 1000, we also work with Fidelity clients of all sizes. The Senior Associate will work with other members of our team to provide analytical services to clients regarding their benefit programs with a strong emphasis on health and welfare plans.However, the successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to learn and add value across the full spectrum of employee benefits. Associates work directly with senior members of our team to develop their financial, business and consultative skills. Our above-market growth creates opportunities that no other firm can match. We are seeking experienced professionals with 2-5 years of related experience in health and welfare program consulting. Primary Responsibilities
  • Calculating health and welfare pricing needs (premium equivalents, IBNR, contributions, etc)
  • Collecting, negotiating, and completing annual renewals for health and welfare plans
  • Evaluating client specific financial information to project annual budgets for health and welfare plans
  • Developing complex spreadsheets to project benefit costs and model alternatives
  • Reviewing and interpreting health and welfare plan documents
  • Analyzing employee census information from clients
  • Preparing reports for client presentations and playing a key role in the delivery of presentations to clients
  • Researching published literature to inform development of innovative wellness programs
  • Working with clients' vendor partners to implement plan changes and meet service levels

Qualifications Education and Experience
  • 2-5 years in health and welfare client consulting or related experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a major in Mathematics, Actuarial Science or another quantitatively rigorous subject preferred
Skills and Knowledge
  • Prior experience in health and welfare plans
  • Desire to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to distill complex information into understandable presentations for clients
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet and database programs
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in time management skills
  • A genuine interest in learning and development
  • Courses in business, accounting or economics a plus
