DescriptionDescription ASTS (Architecture and Shared Technology and Services) a division within Fidelity Investments Management Technology (FIMT) specializes in providing first class database architecture and supporting services for Fidelity Asset Management. This position will work within database technology group to provide database infrastructure related services to support various internal business units. Our mission is to provide the highest quality database support, availability and customer service while continuously researching and delivering the latest features available in the database industry that align with our business partner goals. Technologies include Oracle 10g/11g, Sybase, MS SQL Server, Golden Gate, LINUX RAC, Exadata, and Netezza. We are looking for a strong Oracle database administrator to join our highly technical database team. The ideal candidate will have solid Oracle experience, working knowledge of Sybase and MS SQL Server, and a willingness to learn new technologies. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment are a must. Primary Responsibilities Responsible for maintaining the availability of Oracle on various platforms AIX , Linux Version 11g, 10g and 9i databases in a production and non-production environments Installation of Oracle Real Application Custer (RAC) and upgrade database from Oracle 10g to 11g and also one platform to another (Unix to Linux) RMAN backup, checking daily backup status using Autosys Maintain and support new Golden Gate installation Support Sybase and SQL Server databases Monitoring database using OEM 11g/12C Refresh full environment/schemas from production database as required by application users Ensure compliance in related tasks with company and regulatory policies and procedures Provide on call production support (8:30 AM to 8:30 PM EST) for various database roles on a rotational basis Perform additional duties and/or responsibilities as assigned Follow proper hand-over process between on-shore and off-shore team
Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience is required in Computer Science or related field Minimum of 5 years of solid experience as a hands-on production support Oracle Database Administrator (on-call rotation) including database security, standards enforcement and documentation Skills and Knowledge Working knowledge of Sybase and SQL Server Willing to learn new technologies, (Exadata, Golden Gate, Delphix), Good working knowledge of best practices; detail and process oriented in fast paced environment Must work well independently while simultaneously being a strong team player. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential to achieve project-oriented goals
