The Investment Compliance Technology team has a mission to provide cost effective, sustainable, and innovative technology solutions to the Asset Management Compliance business unit. The Investment Compliance product line enables Fidelitys Asset Management advisors to keep funds and accounts in compliance with a wide range of internal and external regulations in 50+ jurisdictions worldwide. ICT applications support Compliance professionals in Boston, Merrimack, Bermuda, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Sydney. The role is based in Merrimack, NH. The systems analyst will define applications requirements, make recommendations regarding system functionality, and will also be responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and making written recommendations for implementing improvements to business systems and processes. The individual will report to a development manager and will serve as an analyst within the systems development team on large-scale, complex systems development projects. Under normal supervision, the analyst will gather information and organize documents explaining existing processes. This individual will work with the developers to define and document proposed solution definitions, participate in preparation of test strategy and research applications problems as part of root cause determination. The individual will also work with business partners where applicable to help present and explain proposed solutions and issues. This individual must be familiar with project life cycles and must adopt Fidelity methodology as part of contributing to the overall success of the project. Primary Responsibilities
  • Performs analysis on behalf of medium-sized and large, complex projects.
  • Documents technical solutions and creates specifications.
  • Performs functional decompositions of existing systems.
  • Helps define and refine user requests for system enhancements, changes, ad hoc needs, production issues, and new development. Gain an understanding and then communicate these needs to the technical teams.
  • Works with business analysts, users and technical developers to gather, define and document proposed solutions to the business requirements. Run ad hoc queries to support solution choices and provide supporting data to business analysts and business partners where needed.
  • Provides individual status reports, including progress and project issues. Flags potential issues and proposes solutions.
  • Analyzes processes, recommends improvements, and assesses design recommendations.

Qualifications Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in MIS or relevant job experience.
  • A team player with outstanding interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with various levels of management and across various groups. Initiates discussions with users or external groups to resolve issues.
  • A self-starter who is assertive, independent and can work without close supervision on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills in one or more technologies.
  • Superior performance as a Systems Analyst with two to three years experience in an investment management environment is a plus.
  • Financial services experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of systems development methodologies.
  • Familiar in one or more software languages, at the level of being able to decompose existing code into the key logical constructs. Java and SQL are a big plus.
  • Able to work with developers to decompose existing processes and recommend changes to existing systems design to achieve requirements.
