We are seeking a Senior Software Engineerto provide application software development, maintenance and support for the Service Manager and xMatters applications. These are enterprise applications servicing 20,000+ internal customers providing incident, change and request management functions. They also provide critical oncall and notifications capabilities. This positions requires software development for both in-house and vendor products. Additionally, the candidate should have the ability and experience to support the application infrastructure which comprises of the application, middleware, database and web tiers. This position is located at the Westlake , Texas site.

Primary Responsibilities

• Software Application Development. Develop program modules that meet detailed design specifications (application, database, business requirements)

• Systems Analysis and Design

• Infrastructure Analysis and design

• Requirements Gathering and Prototyping apps for end users

• Testing of software and releases

• Implementation of Changes and Releases

• Application Maintenance and Support Tasks

• On-call Rotation to address applications and software issues and outages. Rotation is 24X7 approximately once in 2 months.

• Preparation of documentation for requirements, implementation plans and software reviews

Education and Experience

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

• 6+ years of web technology experience with HTML, JAVA, JavaScript, jQuery.

• ITIL Foundation or Advanced Certification preferred

Skills and Knowledge

Technical Skills:

• Web technology: HTML, Java, JavaScript, jQuery

• Operating Systems: Linux, Unix, AIX

• Dbase: Oracle, SQL and Database Concepts

• Middleware technologies Websphere and Tomcat

• The following are considered a plus: Open Source Frameworks Spring, XML, SOAP

• Exposure to Technical Architectural Design and Solutions

• Possess a good understanding of the underlying computing environment (hardware, middleware, network, and system software).

• Experience with IT Service Management Tool Set, i.e. Service Center or Service Manager, Remedy, Servicenow, Tivoli

Other:

• Use of System development tools and standards.

• Knowledge of Development Lifecycles, Agile and use of Rational Team Concert tool a plus

• Knowledge and Application of good code development techniques, e.g., reusability, maintainability, structured programming and unit-testing.
