Description Department Overview Fidelity Capital Markets (FCM) is the institutional trading arm of Fidelity Investments providing trading, products and services to a wide array of clients and Fidelity businesses. FCM executes domestic and international equity securities including block and portfolio trading, listed options and foreign exchange. Position Overview

This positionwill serve existing municipal finance banking client relationships with municipal bond issuers in the Texas/Southeast region.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Drive access to the primary municipal bond market for FCM's underwriting desk, with a primary focus on retaining co-management roles in negotiated municipal bond offerings.

  • Consult with municipal bond issuers to develop strategies to improve pricing, distribution and overall transparency in the primary market in a way that benefits Fidelity's investor clients by facilitating access to the primary market.

  • Coordinate with FCM underwriting and secondary trading desk to facilitate underwriting process with bond issuers and other syndicate members.

  • Develop and execute education and marketing strategies that support Fidelity's various distribution channels.

  • Attend new issue due diligence meetings and participate as expected in the origination process of specific bond issues.

  • Regularly engage Fidelity's distribution channels by participating in PI and IWS client events, and internal training.

  • Cooperate with FCM risk and desk strategists to prepare reports for FCM's Capital Commitment Committee.

  • Prospect new business within existing territory and work together with public finance group to prospect and support business on other territories.

  • Respond to published RFPs and/or similar procurement requirements.

  • Produce thought leadership content including white papers which demonstrate individual and firm expertise and support marketplace and Fidelity Channels.

  • Attend industry conferences.


Qualifications

Candidate should possess a strong understanding of the municipal capital markets, municipal bond structures and credit fundamentals, diligent work ethic, excellent writing and communication skills, a disciplined attention to detail and a team mentality. The role requires at least a Bachelor's degree with course work in finance, accounting, economics or mathematics (advanced degree is a plus). Candidates should possess a minimum of10 years of public or private experience in municipal finance/banking, sales or credit analysis.
