Overview:
The Adelington Design Group is Fifth & Pacific Companies Inc.'s wholesale jewelry group that consists of private label jewelry design for brands including Monet, Dana Buchman, Trifari, Kensie, Liz Claiborne and many more.

Fifth & Pacific Companies designs and markets a portfolio of retail-based, premium, global lifestyle brands including Juicy Couture, kate spade, and Lucky Brand. In addition, a private brand jewelry design and development group will continue to market brands through department stores as well as serve J. C. Penney via an exclusive license for Liz Claiborne and Monet jewelry lines and Kohl's with a license for Dana Buchman jewelry. The Company also has licenses for the Liz Claiborne New York brand which is available at QVC and Lizwear, which is distributed through the Club Store channel. Fifth & Pacific Companies maintains an 18.75% stake in Mexx, a European and Canadian apparel and accessories retail-based brand.

Currently we are seeking an experienced jewelry designer to join our talented design team. Minimum 3-5 years experience. Ideal position for designers with a talent for interpreting fashion trends and color into brand appropriate designs. Complete understanding of design process, costing structure, manufacturing techniques and ability to execute technical drawings is essential. Work closely with overseas factories and internal product development and merchandising teams to finalize samples. Enjoy working in a fast paced, multi-tasking, team environment.
Responsibilities:
•Design and sketch original product ideas
•Select materials and color based on current fashion and jewelry trends.
•Responsible for all finishing details (closures, castings, manipulation components, findings).
•Review and technically correct first prototypes and all samples stages in order to achieve final approval samples.
•Design within given price points and categories determined by Merchandising.
•Work with Product Development Engineers to achieve design results desired and highest quality product possible within target costs for brand. Adjust designs, materials, etc to achieve margin goals.
•Work with overseas vendors via e-mail to communicate initial designs and resolve material, technical issues.
•Research jewelry/fashion industry trends and accurately interpret for brand’s aesthetic.
•Shop retail stores, search internet and trade magazines for inspiration and competition.
•Present concepts/trends to VP Design & design director.

Qualifications:
•Great time management skills and ability to multi-task
•Strong sense of fashion with high taste level
•Technical knowledge of Materials - Semi-precious gemstones, plastic, metal, enamel etc.
•Clean technical sketches of all views (top, side, back and ¾ views).
•Sketching abilities both technical and illustrative.
•Computer: Word and Excel, Outlook, Photoshop, Illustrator. Other design software is a plus.

•3-5 years of prior experience in jewelry design
•College degree in a related field
•Superb time management skills. Must be able to meet deadlines and keep time on calendar.
•Excellent presentation skills.
