Ensures adherence to established technology standards and consults with senior leadership on technology solutions. Supports existing systems and is responsible for leading technical aspects of a project. Responsible for assigning resources and delegating tasks to meet project deliverables. Performs additional job duties as required. Leads complex projects and issues within functional technical area and cross functional area Works independently with IT functional units and business units. Recommends strategies for technical aspects of projects as well as broad system improvements.
Installs, configures, implements, maintains, and troubleshoots Solaris and AIX (Unix) operating systems software and related program products in an enterprise environment.  Qualified candidate should have experience with global and local zone architecture on SUNsparc server hardware.  Solid AIX experience also required.  Background with VIO and LPAR administration on AIX on pSeries a definite plus.  Provides technical consulting on the use integration of utilities, tools, and applications in the operating system / server environment. Understands and utilizes advanced methodologies in supporting virtualized server platforms, in a mission critical production infrastructure.  Qualified candidate is highly adaptive and flexible, capable of engaging on problem isolation on short notice.

Candidate Requirements

Expert in:
Solaris operating systems, SUNsparc based server hardware, mid-range server subsystems, storage management (EMC SANs), network configuration, resource management, and related software Vendor products and services.
Must also have:

• Solid networking skills, in design and use
  
• Proficiency at some level in AIX server admin methodologies
  
• Veritas high availability (VCS clustering) server experience in production environment
  
• Global / Zone administration experience
  
• Ability to interpret and understand complex technical requirements, service impact, and business issues facing internal and external clients.
