Ensures adherence to established technology standards and consults with senior leadership on technology solutions. Supports existing systems and is responsible for leading technical aspects of a project. Responsible for assigning resources and delegating tasks to meet project deliverables. Performs additional job duties as required. Leads complex projects and issues within functional technical area and cross functional area Works independently with IT functional units and business units. Recommends strategies for technical aspects of projects as well as broad system improvements.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong in Unix and Linux operating systems, subsystems, and Software Vendor products. Understands business issues facing clients.
  
• 5-7+ years related IT experience.
  
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; training users in complex topics, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with upper management.
  
• Builds, defines and documents new standards, processes and procedures. Provides documentation for new builds to be done in the environment.
  
• Independent problem-solving, self-direction.
  
• Comfortable with most aspects of operating system administration; for example, configuration of mail systems, system installation and configuration, printer systems, fundamentals of security, installing third-party software.
  
• Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts; can configure NFS ; can use nslookup or dig to check information in the DNS ; understands basic routing concepts.
  
• Has a solid understanding of High Availability (HA) solutions and design.
  
• Able to design and configure HA solutions to include multiple cluster configurations and support.
  
• Fundamental knowledge of SAN attached storage; for example, HBAs, multipathing and other associated concepts.
  
• Intimate knowledge of Logical Volume Manager (LVM ) configuration and usage. Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (Tk, Perl, VBScript, a shell).
  
• Three to five years of system administration experience in LINUX. 
  
• Must have exp with Red Hat or SuSe Linux.
  
• Bachelors Degree and/or Technical Degree (or equivalent work experience in technology relevant industries  required
