PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Supports FMCNA’s mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy. Directly supervises the Education Coordinators, Field System Trainers and preceptors in their role to provide the inservice needs of the facilities within their assigned geography. Ensures that all programs for new employee orientation, preceptor training, AIM Day (Annual Inservice Marathon Day), Nurses Technical Training (NTT) as well as all clinical services, clinical leadership and Ultra Care initiatives comply with the FMS Standards. Under the direction of the Business Unit Vice President of Training, works to ensure high quality of care for all FMS patients through competency-based training and development. Adheres to the FMCNA Compliance Program, and all regulatory and FMS Policy requirements. DUTIES/ACTIVITIES: CUSTOMER SERVICE:

Responsible for driving the FMS culture through customer service standards.

Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers, including patients, staff, physicians, clinical managers, area managers, business unit and corporate personnel and payors, including disease managements entities.

Develops and maintains effective relationships thru effective and timely communication with all customers.
-
Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT: CLINICAL/FACILITY:
-
Responsible for the clinical training of all direct patient care personnel.
-
Implements, and may customize training programs to support the delivery of quality patient care as per the standards set forth in the FM Clinical Services Clinical training Manual(s) and FMS policies and procedures.

Oversees the implementation process to ensure the policies and procedures developed by Clinical Services are consistently incorporated into facility practices.
-
In collaboration with the FMS Quality Team, responsible for driving FMS quality standards through education regarding all ESRD regulatory and legal requirements and the practice of Continuous Quality Improvement.

Responsible for training Education Coordinators on all programs.
-
Supports facility-specific, regional, and business unity quality goals and action plans, in order to achieve FMS quality standards.
-
Collaborates with Clinical Managers, Area Managers, and Regional Vice Presidents in the scheduling implementation of training programs and processes as directed by the VPT.

Responsible for tracking all employees the FMS Training Database, implementing training according to FMS policy, including compliance with all FMS risk management initiatives.

Responsible for assisting in addressing and acting on any adverse events and action thresholds as appropriate

Ensures that all FMS Clinical Quality policies and procedures are communicated to Clinical Manager submission to Governing Body for approval and the subsequent appropriate training is implemented.

Ensures that individual facility needs are met by monthly inservices.

Tracks, collects and reports on data on educational programs (new employee orientation, AIM Day, NTT) as directed by the Director of Training and Organizational Development.

Responsible for maintaining master schedule of all classroom activities, and provide follow up with Clinical Managers, Area Managers, Regional Vice Presidents as necessary.

Provides education and training to Clinical Managers, Area Managers and clinical staff on new technologies.

Educates the appropriate personnel regarding the maintenance of environmental integrity, including patient and staff safety, of all Business Unit facilities.

Educates the appropriate personnel regarding the maintenance of environmental integrity, including patient and staff safety of all Business Unit Facilities.

Educates the appropriate personnel regarding the integrity and safety of the facility water systems.

Participates in renal disease management programs as per FMS Agreements.
STAFF:

Offers professional growth opportunities to management, facility staff and education personnel.

Participates FMS and Business Unit specific employee satisfaction and recognition programs.

Ensures a strong communication process between Area Managers, Clinical Managers, direct patient care staff and all support staff athe the facility, Business Unit and Corporate levels, regarding all training and organizational development programs and initiatives.

Delivers and maintains on-going competency evaluations to ensure ongoing strong performance of all direct patient care personnel.
MANAGEMENT/LEADERSHIP:

Supports and implements corporate management and leadership developmental programs as directed by VPT.

Orients Education Coordinators and other education personnel and trainers.
-
Provides coaching and developmental support to all Education Coordinators.
-
Acts as a resource for Clinical Managers, Area, and Regional Vice Presidents.
-
Must be well-educated and informed regarding FMCNA Clinical policies and procedures, employee benefits, and Human Resources polices, procedures and processes.
ADMINISTRATION:
-
Implements the in-service organization processes, policies and procedures to meet the needs of the Business Unit, regions and areas.
-
Oversees the preceptor program to ensure individual clinical training at the facility level meets all the appropriate standards.
-
Responsible for all supervisory functions related to the Education Coordinators, including the coaching and development of the inservice staff.
-
Oversees the financial spending of the centralized classrooms and coordinators and submits those to the VPT.
-
With the approval of the VPT, hires all Education Coordinators and Field Systems Trainers according to FMS selection standards, and provides input on the selection of facility preceptors.
-
Completes performance reviews for Education Coordinators and Field Systems Trainers.
-
Responsible for ensuring effective adult learning environments for all training programs.
-
Ensures all FMS business policies, procedures and systems are incorporated into training by the appropriate personnel, including compliance with ethical business practices.

Responsible for payroll and approval of Department expenses for designated geographical area.

Supports and trains on the FMS Staffing and Medical Supply Models, and any other FMS business initiatives as appropriate.

Supports action plans to correct clinics that display below threshold performance.

Supports Business Unit, Regional, Area and facility -specific business plans.
-
Maintains knowledge of FMCNA products, services, strategies and UltraCare in order to support and train staff appropriately.

Any other special projects as assigned by the Director of Training and Organizational Development.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Day to day work includes desk and personal computer work and interaction with patients, regional and facility staff and physicians. The position requires travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community. Travel to regional, Business Unit and Corporate meetings may be required. The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials. EDUCATION:

Registered Nurse-BSN preferred
-
Advanced education, CNN or CDN preferred. CNN or CDN will be required with 18 months of assuming the position.

CPR instructor certification. Must be licensed in all states for which they have responsibility.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
-
At least 3 years experience in dialysis
-
Demonstrated leadership competencies and skills for the position, including excellent communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation , team building, motivating employees, performance management and decision making.

Demonstrated management’s skills necessary to provide leadership in the education dialysis managers and personnel and to ensure the delivery of maximum quality care to all patients.

Must complete FMS Management and Leadership training modules and ongoing training and development programs with the specified time line.
